Well today our goal has been reached and construction on our Monument/Memorial has been completed. Kline Memorials, a monument company out of Manassas, Virginia, was contracted with to build the monument. The Unveiling Ceremony was held on Friday 5 May 2017. A formal dedication of the monument is being planned as part of our 2018 1st Battalion 7th Marines reunion program. Additional information concerning the reunion and the dedication will be made available as soon possible. Thanks to the Marines and Corpsmen, who contributed to making this a lasting legacy, for the men 1/7 Vietnam a reality. Future generations of Americans can now see that these men fought for them, for all Americans, and for the freedoms they enjoy each day.

BRONZE PLAQUE DEDICATION
DECEMBER 7, 2013

Picture
On December 7, 2013 this Memorial Plaque was dedicated with a simple, but very touching, ceremony at the Marine Corps Heritage Museum in Quantico, VA. It now hangs proudly in a place of honor among the other plaques mounted on the stone stacked wall of the Freedom Trail, located in the beautiful Semper Fidelis Memorial Park.

Approximately 70 One Seven Marines and family members gathered in Quantico, VA for the weekend event. It began with an informal dinner at the Globe and Laurel Restaurant on Friday evening and continued with a lunch and the ceremony itself on Saturday afternoon. The 1st BN, 7th Marine Vietnam Association would like to thank all who donated the funds to make this plaque possible. A special thank you goes out to all who turned out on a very cold and windy weekend to make this plaque dedication an event to remember.
